"MOTHERHOOD; A DIVINE CALLING"

Storms of controversy rage all around us.
What is the truth and to whom can we turn?
How do we resist the buffeting of those voices who speak so loudly?
This painting is painted in love and tribute to all mothers, both young and old around the globe.
The woman is in the middle of a storm, with lightning crackling and thunder booming. Winds blow debris around her carrying those constant and negative voices to her ears.
Yet she remains calm and at peace. She lovingly cradles her babies (there are two!) with one hand while she reaches in faith to the heavens for divine help and guidance.
She's dressed in white signifying her purity and desire to live the life God wants her to have. Even her jewelry is symbolic as moonstones represent fertility and the children within her, while the silver surrounding them are a noble metal, representing purity, strength, and feminine energy. The blue-green of her cloak is symbolic of calmness and peace, which is reflected in her face. The cloak itself is a sign of protection , not just from the elements but from the negative forces surrounding her.
The wind represents God's breath, His power in the universe, and spiritual messengers, IF we choose to hear: They swirl around her, picking up leaves symbolic of fertility and growth.
The heavens are opened to her, represented by the light shining down upon her, giving her the answers, the guidance, and the direction she needs to navigate the world around her.
